First off, I just want to welcome you to my blog site, Pure As Gold. Now before I get into the details of what you could expect on my site, here’s a little info about myself.
My name is Chloe Sierra, and I am a 20-year-old from the United States, currently studying dentistry in the Dominican Republic. How I ended up in the Dominican Republic…well, that’s a story for some other time.
I decided to create this blog as a way to express myself. In fact, looking back, I realize that writing has always been one of my passions. As an 11-year-old, I can remember picking up any old notebook lying around and start writing just about anything that came across my mind. Eventually, when I turned 13 years old, my mother gave me my very own journal. In this journal, every two months, I would write down the lessons I had learned within those last two months. 7 years down the road, I have realized that my passion for writing has not only grown, but has evolved into something greater than myself. I have realized that my writing can serve as a platform to help inspire others by challenging them to reach for the stars.
I chose the name “Pure as Gold” after Job 23:10, which says, “But He knows where I am going and when He tests me I will come out as pure gold.” This verse resonates with me because it says that God will have us encounter various trials throughout life. But, overcoming these inevitable trials will allow me to not only learn from them, but also help me grow from them, ultimately allowing me to shine from within. So, the challenges that we each face daily are all actually sent for us to get stronger, and to shape us into the unique and beautiful person that God has destined us to be.
This blog is my place to share my past, present and future life lessons as I journey towards reaching my destiny and coming out as Pure as Gold. So join me as I embrace the challenges that come my way. Challenge yourself to get comfortable being uncomfortable. Get confident being uncertain. Don’t give up just because the going gets tough. Pushing through challenges is what makes you grow.
“Gold is purified by fire, and diamonds are created by great pressure. Pearls develop from irritation, and us humans emerge as the bright shining jewels that we are through the trials we go through.” –Janice Workman
